STRATTANVILLE — Both Redbank Valley youth football teams won last Saturday against Clarion-Limestone, one on the field and one via forfeit.
C-L hasn’t been able to field a senior squad, so it forfeited to the Bulldogs, who would now be 1-1. In the junior division game, Redbank Valley notched a 30-14 win over the Lions.
The Bulldogs (2-0) broke a 6-6 halftime tie with three second-half touchdowns. Kayleb Young scored on a 15-yard run in the first half while Tavin Kennedy started the scoring in the second half with a 25-yard run and Young followed with the two-point conversion run.
Parker Kennemuth, who finished with 110 yards on 20 carries, ran for a 35-yard TD with Kennedy scoring on the two-point try and Kennemuth capped the scoring with a 10-yarder followed by Landon Hornberger’s two-point run.
Kennedy had 81 yards on 19 attempts. Young finished with 21 yards on three carries and added an interception as did Jace Clowser.
This Saturday, the Bulldogs were scheduled to host East Brady but will now play there with a bantam division kickoff set for approximately 8 a.m. at Sugarcreek Township Community Park.
