DuBOIS — Write-in results in the Nov. 7 local government elections show that David G. Schwab won the Region A seat on the DuBois Area School Board, according to the Clearfield County Elections Board’s unofficial vote totals.

Region A covers the City of DuBois.

Schwab, a retired DuBois Area School District teacher, received 275 of the 441 total votes for the four-year term seat, according to the Election Board.

Letters to the winners are expected to be mailed out Monday, the Election Board said.

The seat was previously held by Lee Mitchell, who did not run for re-election.

A second Region A seat is vacant after the Nov. 15 resignation of longtime director Scott Farrell, who resigned due to a change in residency.

Interested candidates must submit a letter of interest indicating their address and a resume to the district: Attention: Danette M. Farrell, board secretary, 500 Liberty Boulevard, DuBois, PA 15801 by noon Dec. 1.

A special board meeting has been scheduled immediately following the reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, for the purpose of interviewing candidates for this vacancy. The meeting will be held at the Administrative Center, 500 Liberty Boulevard, DuBois.

There will be a special board meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, to nominate and appoint a candidate to fill the vacancy and for general purposes. That meeting will also be held at the Administrative Center.

In the primary election, Jeff Madinger of Penfield won the Region B seat which was previously held by Tim Deluccia, who did not seek re-election. Region B is made up of Sandy, Huston, Union and Bloom townships in Clearfield County and Falls Creek Borough in Jefferson County. In Region C, which is comprised of the communities of Reynoldsville, Sykesville and Troutville, as well as Brady and Winslow townships, Sam Armagost beat incumbent Bob Wachob. Both seats are four-year terms.
