LIBERTY, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say a woman and a boy have died in a two-vehicle crash on Route 3 in Liberty.

Police said 64-year-old Janice Minson, of Verona Island, and 9-year-old Colby Adams, of Hope, died Wednesday night.

Troopers said Minson was driving a car that crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming pickup truck. She died shortly after arriving at a hospital.

Adams, a passenger in the pickup, was killed instantly. A second passenger, 15-year-old Samuel Levesque, of Liberty, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver, 20-year-old Evan West, of Liberty, was treated and released from a hospital.

Police said Minson was heading home after an out-of-state vacation. West and his friends had left a nearby home to go to a store.

Police are investigating the crash.
