ST. MARYS — Fall Fest 2022 will encompass the new Downtown Event Park for a three-day celebration starting today in St. Marys.
After taking a year off because of COVID-19, Fall Fest made its debut at the new Downtown Event Park in 2021.
The festival will be open to the public today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event was previously held on The Diamond in St. Marys. The new location, said Emma Caroll, gained a lot of positive feedback last year. The Downtown Event Park offers plenty of space for vendors to spread out and comfortable walking room for attendees.
Fall Fest offers a huge variety of craft and food vendors, basket raffle, musical entertainment, beer tent and more. This year’s event drew in more than 50 vendors from various areas.
The “Person of the Year Award” will be given during the opening ceremony on the Main Stage Friday at 6 p.m., followed by music by Darkwater Duo at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s musical entertainment will include Midnight Revival, Earthquakers and Vegas McGraw.
The Crystal Fire Department will host its traditional breakfast on Erie Avenue at 7 a.m. Sunday.
Last year’s “Organization of the Year” was awarded to the St. Marys Heritage Preservation Group.
The community response to the festival’s basket raffle was overwhelming this year, with 30-plus prizes donated from local businesses, organizations, people and more.
There will also be a “Kidz Zone” at the St. Marys Moose Lodge on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday noon-6 p.m.
Fall Fest has become an enjoyable and family-oriented event for the community, and also a way to bring more people into St. Marys to see what it has to offer, said Carroll.
