A total of 22 D-9 football teams and its head coaches — along with a few players from each squad — were in attendance to answer media questions about the upcoming 2022 season.

This season, D-9 League revamped its division names. Previously known as the Large, Small South and Small North divisions, they will now be known as Regions 1, 2 and 3.

Region 1 consists of DuBois (Class 4A), Bradford (4A), St. Marys (3A), Punxsutawney (3A), Brookville (2A), Central Clarion (2A), Karns City (2A) and Moniteau (2A).

Region 2 comprises of Ridgway (2A), Kane (2A), Brockway (A), Redbank Valley (A), Union/A-C Valley (A), Keystone (A), Smethport (A) and Port Allegany (A).

Region 3 has all of its six teams at the Class A level — including Elk County Catholic, Coudersport, Cameron County, Otto-Eldred, Sheffield and Bucktail.

Karns City Athletic Director Josh Williams also announced the results of the coaches poll that took place prior to the start of Media Day.

For Region 1, first place went to Karns City as St. Marys was second and DuBois third.

Region 2 saw Redbank Valley, fresh off a 2A championship game berth in 2021, voted No. , followed by Port Allegany and Brockway for the top three.

Region 3 coaches predictions have Coudersport at one and Cameron County at two. There was a tie for third between Elk County Catholic and Otto-Eldred.
