SHIPPENSBURG — The PIAA Track & Field Championships this past weekend at Shippensburg University were filled with major storylines, including a host of state records that were broken.

Johnsonburg senior Enoch Aboussou captured a silver medal in the Class 2A triple jump Saturday at states with a mark of 45-5 1/2. Abboussou was edged for gold in the final round of jumps in the finals.
DuBois junior Andrew Shaffer-Doan cleared a personal-best 6-2 in the high jump Saturday at the PIAA Class 3A Track & Field Championships. Shaffer-Doan’s performance earned him an improbable sixth-place medal — the boys program’s first at states since 2009.

DuBois senior AC Deemer was a triple winner on his senior day Tuesday against Brookville. Deemer posted individual victories in the 800 and 3,200 and anchored the 4x800 relay to victory.
